The United States ship Vandalia, Commander JOHN S. CHAUNCEY, arrived at Pensacola, on the 12th ultimo, last from Port au Prince, via Aux Cayes, which latter port she left on the 12th ultimo.

Though the island of St. Domingo is in a very unsettled and precarious position, still all was quiet. At Port au Prince a French squadron, consisting of one frigate, a barque, and two brigs, was waiting for an instalment of the indemnity due the French Government; but, from all accounts, it was supposed they would have to await some time, as money was a scarce article in the market.

An arrival at New York in ten days from Port au Prince reports that General ACCAU, the leader of the late revolution in Aux Cayes, is now in Port au Prince, having been decoyed down by President GUERRIER, under the pretence of conferring the appointment of general of that part of the island, and, on his arrival, thrown into a prison. He was made prisoner immediately on his arrival.

The Patriots of the Spanish part of the island have declared against a French protectorate. SANTA ANNA, the President of the Dominicans, rendered it probable that he would retain his post, and unite his Government to that of Guerrier as a confederacy.
