SummaryResumen

The *Free Lance* reported on the repressive governance of Dominican President Morales, stating he had executed approximately 200 political opponents and maintained a coded blacklist of prominent citizens. Meanwhile, the State Department in Washington announced a policy of non-intervention in internal Dominican strife, regarding the conflict as domestic as long as foreign interests remained safe. Officials cautioned, however, that the United States would intervene militarily if violence threatened American lives or interfered with customs collections.
