SummaryResumen

The *daily worker* published a sharp critique of American policy in the Caribbean, condemning a peace society editorial that defended military intervention in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The paper described the Haitian administration as a puppet regime upheld by American arms, asserting that a secret treaty extension planned to keep U.S. forces in Haiti until 1935. It similarly denounced the 1916 military takeover of the Dominican Republic, rejecting claims that financial collapse justified imperialist intervention on behalf of capitalist interests.
