SummaryResumen
The *Evening Star* reported that the Dominican government and the Dominican Republic Settlement Association signed a contract to admit approximately 500 European political refugee families immediately, aiming ultimately to settle 100,000 refugees over time. While the agreement did not restrict nationalities, most members of the initial contingent were German-Jewish refugees. The settlement association agreed to finance their installation, expecting eventual reimbursement from agricultural yields once the settlers achieved financial stability.
