SummaryResumen

The *Evening Star* reported favorably on conditions in the Dominican Republic on the eve of its sixty-ninth national anniversary, noting that President Trujillo's government had strengthened internal order and foreign credit. In contrast to political instability and financial defaults across much of Latin America since 1930, the commentary noted that the Dominican Republic maintained a balanced budget and steady governance. This administrative stability was credited with bolstering public support at home and prestige abroad.
