Intelligence from St. Domingo to the 25th ult., has been received. A revolution had broken out.—The troops and the navy had declared in favor of Gen. Santa Anna for President. The President Hernandes, met the troops on the outskirts of the city, and declared that he was still their commanding officer. Gen. Santa Anna instantly withdrew from the army and went to his plantation. The troops then disbanded; but not being satisfied, they again requested Santa Anna to head them, which he did, and immediately marched to the city.—Previous to his arrival, by the order of the President Hernandes, the city of San Carlos was burnt, to prevent the army from marching in. It was supposed that the city would surrender; but this the burnt of the town; and that Santa Anna would be declared President of the Dominican Government.
