SummaryResumen

The Evening Star reported that Cuban Foreign Minister Aureliano Sanchez Arango denounced the Dominican seizure of a vessel and the subsequent 30-year hard-labor sentences imposed on its crew for alleged subversive plotting. Sanchez Arango accused the ship's captain, Brito, of acting as a Dominican spy who delivered the craft and kidnapped its crew under shifting pretenses before being convicted alongside them. Because diplomatic protests proved futile, Cuba appealed the maritime incident to the Inter-American Peace Commission.

Negotiations through regular
