Passage summaryResumen del pasaje

The Yorkville Enquirer reported that Dominican authorities arrested former Admiral Catrain as he attempted to sneak aboard a German steamer in Santo Domingo to join an insurrection led by deposed President Morales. Catrain, who had previously commandeered the gunboat *Independencia* during Morales's 1906 ouster before receiving amnesty, was suspected of returning to command a revolutionary vessel. Dominican officials discounted Morales's assertions to his followers that the United States supported his return to power.
