SummaryResumen

The Yorkville Enquirer commented on Dominican political instability and former President Morales's campaign to regain the presidency by force, arguing that the country needed a strong leader comparable to Mexico's Porfirio Diaz. The article questioned whether Morales could improve upon the incumbent administration or justify plunging the nation into civil war. It noted that if threatened, the Dominican government could invoke a treaty clause originally drafted by Morales himself to request American intervention to protect debt obligations.
