SummaryResumen

The *Evening Star* reported that ousted military leader General Pedro Rodríguez Echavarría was expected to be sent abroad rather than harshly punished, following the counter-coup in Santo Domingo. Former President Joaquín Balaguer remained under guard at his residence, asserting that he had previously resisted resigning precisely to avoid provoking a military seizure of power.
