SummaryResumen
The *Indianapolis Journal* reported on Dominican fiscal measures requiring a portion of customs duties to be paid in paper currency, which would be publicly burned each month to retire the circulating paper notes. Concurrently, Dominican revolutionary forces crossed from Ouanaminthe, Haiti, and captured the border town of Dajabon, forcing the local garrison to retreat to Fort Belair. The report noted expectations that rebel leader General Jimenes would soon land to take direct command, despite Haitian efforts to prevent his transit.
