SummaryResumen
The *Evening star* reported that the Dominican Republic conducted its first peaceful and free national election after rival political factions agreed to support constitutional government. The treaty terms formulated by Washington required the new Dominican government to ratify all acts of the military administration, specifically the bond issues of 1918 and 1922, and guarantee that customs tariffs would not be altered without U.S. approval. The convention specified that U.S. military forces would completely evacuate the republic once these conditions were formally ratified.
