SummaryResumen
The *Evening Star* reported that Oliver P. Newman, representing a Dominican bondholders committee, informed President Roosevelt of full Dominican cooperation with the United States regarding Caribbean defense. Newman stated that Dominican customs receipts over the past year had successfully serviced government bonds and provided an extra distribution to coupon holders, while an American relief committee in the republic had raised $15,000 for wartime aid. However, Newman warned that maritime shipping shortages were causing serious difficulties for the island's domestic economy and trade.
