SummaryResumen

The *Evening Star* profiled General Rafael Trujillo, noting that despite being denounced as a tyrant and accused of the massacre of thousands of Haitians two years earlier, he was recognized for administrative energy and public works. Having taken power in 1930 under the slogan "God and Trujillo," he oversaw road construction, school expansion, and the rebuilding and renaming of the capital before handing the presidency to Dr. Jacinto Bienvenido Peynado. The article noted that Trujillo continued to direct Dominican governance while being celebrated by sympathetic biographers as an inspired leader.
