HAYTI GROWS TRANQUIL.

President Heureux Makes a Tour of

The Republic.

New York, May 16.—A dispatch to

the Tribune from Porto Plata. Hayti,

says:

The Haytian government accepts the

delimitation of the frontiers by Presi

dent Heureaux, of Dominica, and the

presidents of both republics will meet

in conference at Mole St. Nicholas.

President Heaureaux's visits through

thei country have calmed the people

by his personal guarantee of t'he re

demption of paper in July, and his

popularity continues. The export du

ties have increased, raising $1,005 more

revenue for the year. The dominican

congress will declare Senior Jiminez

an alien.

WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY.

Chicago. 111., May 16—Scientists

throughout the country will Be Inter

ested in the results of the experiments

to toe tried at the “wireless telegraphy

banquet” to toe given here this even

ing by the Northwestern Association

of the Massachusetts institute of Tech

nology. The main feature is to be a

demonstration of the workings of

■wireless telegraphy similar to the suc

cessful experiments of the Marconi

system. The demonstrators Will en

deavor to order the courses of the din

ner from the dining room on the third

floor of the restaurant where the ban

quet is to toe held. The receiver will

be placed in the kitchen and the

messages given to the chef.
