Washington, Dec. 24. A proclama

OILWAY EXPERIMENTS

Judging by the looks of the piece

of road that the county commission

ers are experimenting with, out on

Orange avenue, the method of com

pressing sand into oil is going to be

of great use. The plan is to lay a

coat of oil and then drive a coat of

sand into it with the road roller, then

another coat of oil and another

layer of sand, all crushed together

with the roller, until it is like a long,

thick, rather springy rug. It looks

like it's going to be a success. The

commissioners have bought uptodate

machinery, which will enable them to

economize greatly on man-power, and

its' our opinion 1921 is going to be an

era of road improvement in this

county.
