Liner Chef Opens

Door for Peek

Into Kitchen

RIO DE JANEIRO. June 14.—

Sightseeing may be the accepted

way of getting acquainted with a

new country, but the best way is first

>to ‘'glimpse" it through—of all places

—a kitchen door.

That is the theory of Chef Fritz

Uhlmann of the liner Uruguay, who

has spent some years cruising ana

cooking between the United States

and Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.

The chef believes that travelers

ought to start acquainting them

selves with their destination as soon

as they step aboard ship, and the

easiest way to do so, he declares, is

to sample its national dishes.

A good traveler, the chef says, is

always more interested in discover

ing what food he will be served
