Dominica has been ratified with the British Govern

ment. A note, by Lord Palmerston, accepts medi

tation proposed for the termination of the war with

the inhabitants of Hayti. In view of this, the Bri

tish Consul, charged with the negotiation, has given

a banquet, to which all the authorities had been

invited, together with the Archbishop. After this,

a ball was given at the palace of the Governor. The

representatives of France, England and the United

States, having been engaged in these arrangements,

all prospects of disturbances are at an end, particu

larly as there has been a formal’protestation on their

part against any invasion of the Dominician terri

tory by the Haytiens.—N, Y. Herald, 21*/ inst.
