thisconn vy, shrugged his shoulders and in

tiznated that he agreed with Secretary Whit

nev that e, lyde would resume the run

ning of his stesmers and thebreaking of the

flimsy blockade at his own risk.

It is thought that some highly interesting

complications may grow out of the proposed

course of Mr. Clyde,

At his office it was said that none of

Legitime's war vessels had appeared off Cape

Hay(ien, an alleged blockaded port, since

Jan. 17, so that it was folly to speak of it as a

blockade.

The steamer George W. Clyde will sail

from here for Dominican ports and Cape

Haytien on Satarday. She has almost com

pleted her cargo, no munitions of war being

allowed on board, and he is prepared to book

passengers, and, in fact, has alrealy booked

one, who, it is said, goes down on business of

a private nature,

Mr. Austin, of Lord Austin, charterers

of the notd Haytien Republic, is in Boston

preparing to send that steamer back with a

earzo to Hayti. Thus it seems that Legitime’s

blockade is to be formally ignored.
