ered by this steamer, It was report

ed, and when she came into Pensa

cola yesterday, both food and fuel

were at a low ebb. For that reason

a considerable lot of provisions and

stores were taken aboard at this

point.

Schooner in Distress.

The American schooner Charlotte

W. Miller, 38 days out from Aquin,

a port in Haiti, was towed into pojrt

yesterday by the tug Nellie, the tug

supplying the schooner with some

provisions while the latter wag at an

chor in the gulf. Towed into port

and over from the quarantine station

a casual survey was made yesterday

and it was recommended that the

schooner's cargo of logwood, destined

for Providence, R. I., be discharged

here and the schooner repaired. This

will be done. The schooner lost her

rudder, and was otherwise damaged

when encountering a storm off Cam

peache banks. She was leaking bad

ly when hailed by the Nellie. This

was the second schonoer, loaded with

cargo, to have come into Fensacola

since the October "hurricane which

swept -the gulf, to be repaired. The

other vessel is the C. C. Wehrum, and

the latter is now undergoing repairs

before proceeding to Philadelphia.

Cargo of the latter has been shipped

by rail fo that point.
