SummaryResumen

The Ohio Daily-Express reported that captured correspondence revealed former Haitian diplomat Col. Astrel Roland conspired with Dominican President Rafael Trujillo and Interior Minister Alvarez Paulino to orchestrate an invasion of Haiti. A Belgian woman named Lady Verbracken, operating as an ethnologist, gathered Haitian military intelligence and coordinated strategy meetings in New York with Dominican officials. Following his dismissal from the diplomatic service in January, Roland launched subversive radio broadcasts targeting the Haitian government.
