SummaryResumen
The Evening Star reported that an unconfirmed news dispatch from Ciudad Trujillo indicated that eighty residents of Tres Puntos, a sugar-growing village in southwestern Dominican Republic, were drowned in torrential floods. In international developments, British Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin urged Arabs and Jews to accept a United Nations cease-fire in Palestine. Bevin refrained from a full parliamentary statement while sensitive Anglo-American diplomatic talks continued.
